High Blood Pressure

Blood Pressure is the force created as your heart pumps blood and moves it through your blood vessels. Blood vessels have elastic walls and provide some resistance to the blood flow. Hence, there is pressure in the system even between heart beats. This continuous blood flow provides our body with oxygen and nutrients it needs.

When your blood pressure remains high all the time ( > 140mmhg (sistolic)/90mmhg(diastolic), even at rest, you have High Blood Pressure or Hypertension.

Do you know that High Blood Pressure is the silent killer ? It's because High blood pressure usually reveal no symptoms, until complication arise. It can silently and gradually build up without you feeling it at all. Your arteries gradually get hardened and narrowed until the blood that flow to the important organs gets blocked, that make damaged organ such as heart, brain, kidneys and eyes.

95% of the people with high blood pressure, the cause are unknown.

However there are factors that increase the risk of Hypertension:
1. Age
When getting old, the large arteries become more rigid (stiff) with age, the resistance to the flow of blood increases, thus raising the pressure.

2. Heredity
High blood pressure tends to run in families as people in the same family may also have similar lifestyle and dietary habits that increase their risk of developing high blood pressure.

3. Smoking
Smoking speeds up atherosclerosis.
Tobacco damages the lining of the artery walls, causing arteries to accumulate fatty deposits that contain cholesterol.
Nicotine in cigarettes constricts blood vessel and forces heart to work harder.
4. Obesity
Being overweight increases risk of high blood pressure as it makes the heart work harder.
For some people, bringing their weight down may be all they need to do to keep their blood pressure in control.
5. Excessive salt intake
For sodium (salt) sensitive individuals, too much sodium in the diet increase blood volume, hence increase the blood pressure. Most people are not affected by excess dietary sodium because their bodies just get rid of excess sodium in the urine.

When the doctor give you medicine and antibiotics after said to you:
"your blood pressure is too high"

don't be panic eventhough it's a silent killer .

Do you know why? medicine and antibiotics are only being taught because our medical industry is completely reliant upon pharmaceutical companies. We can cure high blood pressure with no medication. High Blood Pressure medications work because they synthetically alleviate the pressure of the arteries and blood. For instance, with diuretics the blood will become less salty (less thick) and your pressure with drop. Another example would be beta blockers which synthetically cause the heart to beat slower
Curing high blood pressure starts with a holistic treatment. Holistically treating hypertension simply means using the 'whole' body to cure the problem. This is completely different than taking a pill to synthetically thin out the blood.
